Whether the concern is party crashers, rowdy revelers, or paparazzi, security is a smart way to create a safe and comfortable environment for your guests.
Personal protection while traveling with large amounts of cash, jewelry, or other valuables is a service often requested by our clients. If you are headed to the airport, a jewelry show, or home with a large purchase, a secured escort ensures your safe arrival.
Corporate Security Services
The following is a listing of the basic services available. We are always willing to consider types of protective services that are not specifically mentioned, with attention given on an individual request basis. In all cases, inquiries made by potential clients, services rendered and the identity of actual or potential clients is kept in the strictest of confidence.
Suspending or terminating an employee is never a pleasant experience. When you are also concerned for your own safety and the safety of your co-workers, there is added stress. Hiring an officer to be present during the process is a wise precaution.
Threat Assessments
It is essential to understand the nature of any given threat, in order to properly defend against that threat. This process saves time, financial assets, frustration and potential liability issues that can be the result of improperly designed or implemented countermeasures.
This service involves a detailed breakdown of your existing programs and procedures, with an eye towards potential threats and existing or potential vulnerabilities. The process includes an analysis of your existing policies and procedures; interviews with key individuals throughout your site/company; research into potential threat sources, based upon a wide range of aspects inherent to, or created by, the potential target and reviews of the threat history of the potential target, related sites, activities and associations. Insights into local and regional crime trends are also provided, with reference to their possible effects in the potential threats in question.
Existing Countermeasures Analysis
This is a review of your existing physical countermeasures, be they detection and alarm systems or simple physical barriers. This service differs from the Threat/Vulnerability Assessment in that it is focused solely upon the physical systems in place, and potential threats or vulnerabilities related to those systems. As a result of this tightened focus, these areas will be examined in greater detail, while reducing the time required to perform the inspection process. This is an excellent review of security detection and alarm systems, and CCTV systems, which may have been designed and installed by outside vendors, with the intent to determine if the services rendered have effectively addressed the threats which prompted such expenditure.
This service is the hybrid combination of both the Threat/Vulnerability Assessment and the Physical Countermeasures Analysis, with the addition of a live test of the system, to document and demonstrate the weaknesses that have been observed. This is done cooperatively with the client representative, and strict rules of engagement are negotiated in advance. No persons are intentionally harmed as a result of such actions, and acceptable levels of physical tampering are decided upon prior to the initiation of such services. This service allows the client to have a much more detailed understanding of the possible consequences of potential attacks, with a true-to-life demonstration.
Additionally, this service allows the client to have a better understanding of the actual human-related reactions to a given situation, without pre-event notification or an opportunity to modify actual practices to conform to policies. This is an excellent test of contracted security forces, and often results in the identification of previously unidentified challenges in existing programs.
Officers are only as good as the program within which they operate. Proper research and design makes all the difference in this facet of security. The professionally authored training program will foster the levels of skill and dedication that are required to effectively perform this type of duty, with an eye towards maintaining a reasonable level of protection and avoiding potential liability to the greatest extent possible. Once trained, the protective unit requires well-designed Standard Operating Procedures, based on an understanding of effective techniques, an insightful consideration of the specific physical environment and knowledge of current technology, if they are to be effective over time. Properly researched, documented and executed program directives and SOP´s are the key to continued success.
The well documented and enlivened written policy is one of the most effective, and inexpensive, countermeasures available, yet is also one of the most neglected. It provides the framework within which all other defensive tools are designed to function, and will support those tools more efficiently, if created properly. This step must be taken with great care and skill, if those measures adopted afterwards are to be fully effective. Policy and procedure errors can be one of the most embarrassing and costly mistakes one can make, yet can be easily avoided through thorough research and an understanding of the process through experience and training in that discipline.
Note: GUARDIAN utilizes reliable sub-contractors for the actual installation of the security systems we design. Our partners offer every type of security system available – from the affordable home-level systems, to state-of-the-art government-level systems.
For those entering into a new project, be it an office suite, a residence or a multi-structure corporate headquarters facility, the design phase is the key time to building defensive capabilities. Even once the site is completed, a properly designed system can greatly enhance the defensive value of a structure or complex. Such designed systems do not need to be obtrusive, and in many cases are often hard to detect without a skilled eye. With proper planning and implementation, a security system can be a great asset, improperly carried out - they can be a headache, a hassle and even a liability. To effectively perform this task, a Threat/Vulnerability Assessment should be performed, as well as a Physical Countermeasures Analysis. Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Instruction on Protective Operations Topics
Protective units, regardless of size, require training which is effective, thorough and, above all, continuous. To meet this need, classes can be designed for all levels of experience and threat levels.
Beginning with the most recent recruit, through to the current, or future, Director of Security, a properly designed and implemented training program is essential for success. Instruction options begin with the fundamentals of protective operations, and progress through significantly more advanced levels of training. Classes are designed to meet the needs of all levels of responsibility, and typically are broken down into Line Officer, Supervisor and Director/Trainer courses. Successful trainees receive a certificate of completion, as well as copies of the course syllabus and instructional materials. This instruction is rigorous, and utilizes a wide range of effective instruction techniques to deliver the level of education and physical training required for effective learning, at the adult level. Some class topic suggestions include: Defensive Tactics (Armed and Unarmed) and Use of Force, Executive Protection, Basic Security Functions, Report Writing, Effective Patrol Procedures, Application of Advanced Security Technology, Design and Operation of Detection and Alarm Systems and Industry-Specific Protective Issues.
One of the least developed aspects of many companies’ protective programs is the Loss Prevention training. This is the systematic education of all employees, even outside vendors, who will be working at company facilities, or on behalf of the company. It is critical that all of these individuals be made aware of how to safety perform their jobs, beyond the basic information that they are required to provide by various regulatory codes, if they are to avoid becoming an accident statistic. A well-developed program will provide this information, valuable training and install a sense of value and care in the trainee. Once the initial training is completed, a properly developed program moves into the monitoring and correction aspects, searching for defects or potential hazards, before they cause serious injury, or reduce productivity.
Special Event Security
One of the most frustrating aspects of organizing a special event is the consideration of security. If not properly designed from the inception, this can become the most troublesome components of any function, consuming vast reserves of manpower, equipment and the most limited of commodities during an event: time and attention. By allowing an experienced and skilled leader to design and implement the protective aspects of the event, the client has more time to focus on the task of managing the event itself, rather than being caught up in the details of the protective efforts. This area requires a high level of skill, in order to maintain an appropriate balance between the desired level of protection, and to comfort of the guests and staff. There is no substitute for experience and training of Direct Personal Security / Executive Protection in this area.
There are times when a person, or company, requires professional assistance in defending against a specific threat, or in response to having to enter into an area where they have no direct control of the environment. During these times, it is wise to seek a professional who can aid in the protection of your life and livelihood. We are qualified to perform such duties, and we also have a network of support that can be utilized to the benefit of the clients. Executive Protection is a highly skill-intensive endeavor, and should not be left in the hands of those who are without proven experience, proper training and a full understanding of their personal and legal contingency plan.
A well thought out, and effectively presented seminar can often make the difference between a body of people who do not understand the importance of security measures, and one who not only understands the importance but is willing to assist in the process. Regardless of the format utilized in the presentation, the material must be properly researched, designed for the target audience and delivered in a professional and interesting manner, if it is to be effective and beneficial.
